European Surfaces Profile

French 17th Century Home Founded in 1996, European Surfaces currently offers reclaimed building materials, architectural and garden elements from France to custom home markets in the US and abroad through www.EuropeanSurfaces.com.

Located at Charlotte, North Carolina, our antique and reproduction building materials are also available through our collaboration with Postcard from Paris, a unique retail store and design center specializing in classic European style interior and exterior furnishings, at Greenville, South Carolina.

The works displayed in our web site galleries are offered from both US based stocks and from the inventories of French reclaimer-suppliers located throughout France. Each item is personally selected as we travel through France locating the materials, learning how they were crafted, how they were originally used and installed. We know and share the provenance of these works with our clients as well as our expertise in using these materials, which includes the ability to work with architects, contractors, landscape architects, and designers.

We deal with and represent multiple suppliers in France so that our offerings are as diverse and our sources as broad as possible.

We use no "buyer's agent" or other middlemen but deal personally with each of our French suppliers.

We are not simply suppliers of antique building materials but consultants, able to work with architects, designers, landscape architects, and contractors to assure the appropriate and satisfactory integration of our works into the client's project.

We offer an extensive and ever changing collection of original antique French building materials of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries - coming from many regions in France, including Burgundy, Provence, Loire, Aquitaine, Normandy, Normandie, as well as antique building materials from other European countries Belgium and Spain.

French building When possible, we learn the origins, stories, and regional lore associated with the antique building materials that we offer and, more importantly, we have learned some of the best ways to reuse, install, and maintain these works.

We arrange all of the logistics associated with the packing, shipping,
and delivery of merchandise from a supplier's yard to our yard or to your project.

Our goal is not simply to provide the finest reclaimed French materials, but also to assure their most authentic and appropriate installation, to the ultimate delight and complete satisfaction of the client.
